The Grand Dominion of Smeisserand

Smeisserand was founded as the Kingdom of Vegas in LY 1359 (1 von Stadt, from the founding of Katraal). It went through several periods of upheaval and war, none of which were kind to its people. The republican government was overthrown in 663vS (LY 2022) by a military dictator during an extended time of political unrest in the Congress. Lord Dominic Gesselring used magic, espionage, and military might to remove the merchant class from its seat of power and reinstated the landed aristocracy to a place of privilege.
